How can I tell if I am headed for divorce?

On Behalf of | Feb 22, 2019 | Uncategorized

The day that you exchange vows is one of the happiest days of your life. Then there’s the day you finalize a divorce. This is not a guarantee to happen, but it has become more and more common of late. Is your marriage struggling? Are you at a loss as to how to fix it? How can you tell if your marriage is headed for divorce? Let’s explore some warning signs in today’s post.

When one spouse has unrealistic expectations of the marriage this can be disastrous for the relationship. The most common unrealistic expectations include who will work, who will be responsible for household chores, who will manage the money and much more.

When both of you fail to share common interests — and no longer attempt to do so — your marriage will likely suffer some difficult consequences. Successful marriages are able to have both spouses share common interests and have time to themselves. When there is zero overlap things can turn sour.

Did your mind change about having children? What about the mind of your spouse? Either way, when someone changes their mind about children it can be disastrous, especially if the other spouse is holding steadfast in their opinion.

There are two forms of intimacy in a relationship; emotional and physical. When one or both of these are missing from your marriage it is likely you could be headed for divorce.

The signs described in today’s post are not exhaustive. There are plenty more signs out there that could show that the marriage is coming to an end. Be on the lookout for these signs and more as you move closer to divorce.
